Since 1837, generation after generation, Hermès has created products of superb craftsmanship that meet the needs of customers. During the 1880s, Hermès, focused on making custom harnesses and saddles, which became a success across Europe.

Today, Hermès is mainly known for its exclusive handbags. In the 1930s, the Kelly bag was designed but it wasn't until 1956 that it received the name Kelly, as a tribute to Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco. 1984, the Birkin bag was born after a flight where the British actress Jane Birkin, sitting next to Jean-Louis Dumas, was complaining that she couldn't find a bag suitable for her needs as a young mother.
